Moo...
by Maya

Hi My name is Maya. I am going to teach you

about cows. If you don’t

Know anything about them, well,

I’m here to tell you about them.

Have you’ve ever wondered why cows moo?

When cows moo it is called a “mew.” Cows seem to be

quiet, but the fact is, they say

“Moo” every 70 seconds.

It is something of a habit; they are so used to it.

Animals such as cows have all different varieties of ways

to communicate such as… language, certain odors, touch,

and sound (like a cow’s “moo”).

Here are some additional interesting facts about cows:

All cows are females. Male “cows” are called bulls.

Baby cows are called calves…

They mew like the other cows (Probably because the cows

Around

Him/her do it)

Cows have four stomachs there is the rumen, reticulum,

Omasum,

And abomasum.

Rumen is the biggest out of all of them.

Some say, cows have only one stomach and four

compartments.

Cows don’t have front teeth (this is one of the reasons

that cows CHEW on things.)

Cows spend eight hours a day eating and mewing. Cows

Drink up to 30-40 gallons of water a day!

They provide 200,000 glasses of milk in their whole entire

lifetime.

Cows are one of the main contributors to the hole in the

Ozone layer.

Why? Cows release hydrocarbon (AKA “gas”) by burping.

If somebody took at least 10 cows and let them breathe

Out hydrocarbon, it

would provide heating for a small house for 1 year.

Cows have to wear tags on their ears

just for identification.

Now you should know enough about cows.

Hope you enjoyed my article.

That’s all folks!!
