A Letter from the Wright Writers

Welcome to the first online edition of the Wright Writers Magazine. All of the articles
presented here were written by an ingenious group of 6th graders from Wright Middle
School during the 2nd quarter of Wright’s 2006-2007 school year. These 6th graders were
asked to write an article about anything that was loosely or strictly related to “science,”
and they were asked to do this in a way that was accessible, engaging, and informative.
At first, this task was thought by many to be impossible, but judging from the final
results of the students’ hard work, every single one of them achieved their own unique
form of, what can only modestly be called, success.

The Wright Writers staff would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Sara Hawkins
whose creativity, guidance, and patience made all of this possible. We would also like to
thank all of the volunteers who helped us along the way, and particularly Kyle Rolnick,
for sharing their time and their skills with us.

Finally, we’d like to thank you for visiting our magazine! We hope you enjoy seeing the
world through our eyes, and we hope that you’ll share our magazine with others.
